My gorgeous friend spends a lot of her time creating these costumes from scratch and morphing herself into real life characters. She really needs to turn this into a career!

New Smyrna Beach’s Flagler Ave. was taken over by some talented musicians this weekend during the NSB Rock & Roll Music Festival.

A variety of bands-spanning six decades of influence-played at local bars and restaurants, and depending on which venue you attended, you would hear music from the 1950’s to today!

This particular event was 1950’s Rockabilly featuring the incredible Rocket 88 from Orlando, Florida. If you’ve never caught these guys in central Florida, do yourselves a favor and seek them out! It was a genuinely nice surprise to hear such fun music.

Om Bar-a true original live music venue-continues to impress me with the music they bring in, so big props go out to the owners, Mark & Elaine. They’re true music lovers, and you know it from the moment you walk in the door.

So three things:

1. Go to Om Bar

2. Support local, original music

3. Repeat

Enjoy!

Tomorrowland production takes over Canal Street in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. I was able to get close during the day to shoot some of the pre-production and design, but once filming began the police along with many security guards made sure that no one got near the director or anyone else.

The closest thing I was able to photograph was the scene where a stunt driver drove a motorcycle up and down Canal. That whole street and several surrounding blocks were shut down for what will most likely be the result of a few seconds or minutes in the film; or at least that’s what I can imagine after having previous experiences with filmmaking.

Enjoy!

The Tomorrowland production continues in New Smyrna Beach tonight, a few blocks from my house.
I went out and got some early shots, and am going back when the filming begins later this evening.
I met a few really nice production crew members, and should be showing them around town after the shoot ends.
Keep an eye out as I will be posting more photos this weekend!
